Cynthia L. "Cindy" Thompson, 61, of Waverly, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Corning Hospital. She was born April 22, 1956 in Waverly, NY, the daughter of the late Gerald and Ruth (Baker) Thompson. Cindy loved her family and sharing times with them and talking about things they always did together. She enjoyed going to Penn-York Opportunities with her friends until she moved from the area. Cindy was one who said, "what she was thinking" but her way of doing it endeared herself to all she knew. She would cuss you out, which to her that meant calling you a "Peepot" but for her it was always a term of endearment. She loved Country Music, especially the Kendalls and dancing to the music. When out with her family dancing she would always order her favorite drink, which was a Virgin Shirley Temple, and let them all know she could dance better when she was drunk. Her favorite drink was when they took her to McDonald's for her chocolate milk shake with a cherry on top. She enjoyed her word search, coloring, and playing cards. She is predeceased by her brother, Gerald "Jerry" Thompson and sister, Marsha Wolcott. Cindy is survived by her sisters, Georgianna Ellers of Waverly, NY, Avis Haxton of Athens, PA, and Belinda Randall of Athens, PA, nieces and nephews, Pam, Collette, Tommy, Sheena, TJ, Todd, Jeffrey, Zina, and Tina, several aunts, uncles, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 12pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA with the Rev. Linda Rogers officiating. Burial will be at Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, PA.
