Obituary of Norma Jo Keeney

Norma Jo Keeney, 60, formerly of Sayre, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018, surrounded by her loved ones at the Towanda Personal Care Home.  

She was born on January 4, 1958, in Sayre, PA the daughter of the late Norman and Ellen (Kintner) Keeney.

Norma’s family was her love and priority in her life. She loved spending time with them. She enjoyed shopping and then going out to eat. Norma was always ready to play cards or go to the casino when the opportunity arose. She worked for over 30 years at Penn-York Opportunities and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

She is predeceased by her brother, Roy Keeney, brother-in-law, Paul Jacoby, Jr., and niece, Cheryl Keeney.

Norma is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Peggy Keeney of Boca Raton, FL, sister, Carole Jacoby of South Waverly, PA, sister-in-law, Barbara Keeney of Harrisburg, PA, nieces and nephews and their families, Kevin and Jennifer Keeney of Milan, MI and their son, Robert, Steven Keeney and Jennifer Seidel of Farmington, MI, and his children, Jenna, James, and Joshua, Michelle and Gregg Murrelle of Sayre, PA and their children, Ryan and Allyssa, and Karen and Mike Shaffer of Waverly, NY and their children, Megan Wilbur, Sidney (serving with the US Air Force), and Michael, Debby and Dan Boarman of Harrisburg, PA and their family, Spencer, Parker, Jordan, and Lindsey, and Marcie and Shawn Yakscoe of Harrisburg, PA and their children, Brody and Palmer. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, special cousin, Julie (Mark) Christini, lifelong friends, Susie and Norma, and many other close friends.  

Friends and family may call on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, from 10am-11am at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Chuck Carver officiating.

Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
