Obituary of Loretta Urstadt
Loretta Ida Taylor Urstadt, 86, of Waverly, NY passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.
She was born on May 15, 1931 in Hightstown, NJ, the daughter of the late Harry H. and Gertrude E. (Lewis) Taylor.
She attended school in Hightstown, NJ. Loretta married the late Curtis R. Urstadt, Sr. of Jamesburg, NJ on July 22, 1948. They resided in Hightstown, NJ raising their four children. In 1987, they moved to Athens, PA and then Waverly, NY to be near two of their daughters and grandchildren.
Loretta worked as a salesclerk for Tracy’s 5 & 10 Store in Hightstown, NJ for many years. After relocating to NY, she worked as a cashier in the former ACME/P&C Supermarket in Sayre, PA.
Loretta is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law; Trudee and Jim Hines of Tennessee, Christina and Gregg VanDerpool of Pennsylvania, and Marie and Kenny Wilbanks of Virginia, her 6 grandchildren; Katie and Jason Hines/Wiener, Megan and John Rhodes, Duane and Elizabeth VanDerpool, Hope and Larry Beebe, Jason and Donna Wilbanks and Jennifer Wilbanks, her 16 great-grandchildren whom she adored; Evan, Wren, Ava, Jackson, Nell, Ethan, Addison, Carina, Kayla, Laina, Maria, JoAnna, Josie, Chloe, Kaleigh, and Emma Lynn. She is also survived by her long-time family friend; Marie MacFarland of New Jersey, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son; Curtis R. Urstadt, Jr. in December 2000, her sisters; Reba Archer and Alberta Walker and her brother; Harry H. Taylor, Jr.
Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. of Athens, PA is assisting the family.
