Obituary of Rachel M. Petrocco

Rachel M. Petrocco, 76, of South Waverly, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 following a period of declining health.

 

She was born on June 29, 1941 in Sayre, PA, the daughter of the late Dominic and Delia (Wispell) Petrocco.

 

Rachel was employed with General Motors for many years, prior to retiring. She loved spending time with her family. Rachel was a wonderful babysitter and watched her nephew, great-nephews, and many of the neighborhood kids, and was known to all as, “Auntie”. She enjoyed doing crafts, was a collector of Elephants, Tweetie Birds, and Avon red glass dishes. Rachel loved baseball and football and was an avid Boston Red Sox and Buffalo Bills fan.

 

She is predeceased by her an infant sister; Edith Petrocco, infant brother; MiMi Petrocco, and brother; Michael “Big Mike” Petrocco.

 

Rachel is survived by her sister; Joyce Petrocco of South Waverly, PA, sister-in-law; Shirley Petrocco of South Waverly, PA, special nephew; Michael “Mike” Petrocco of Sayre, PA, her Godson, great-nephews; Dominic Petrocco and Kaden Petrocco, and several cousins.

 

Friends and family may call on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 11am – 1pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at 1pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Andrew Hvozdovic                 officiating. 

 

Burial will follow the service at the Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
