Obituary of Arthur E. Cole

Arthur E. Cole, 87, of Sayre, PA passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Athens Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.                                             

He was born on October 9, 1930 in Coalwood, WV, the son of the late Stanley and Edith (Castle) Cole. 

Arthur was a 1948 graduate of Athens High School. He was a Veteran of the US Army. Arthur was employed with IBM in both Endicott and Owego in the Production Control Department for many years, prior to his retirement. In the past, he served on the Penn York Opportunities Board.

He is predeceased by his brothers; James Cole, Jay Cole, and Dayton Cole, brother and sister-in-law; Elwood and Patricia Cole, sister and brother-in-law; Willa and Bill Wilson, sisters-in-law; Lynda Cole, and brother-in-law; Edward Molyneaux.

Arthur is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years; Marolyn at home, sons and daughters-in-law; Kevin and Jenny Cole of San Diego, CA and Brian and Kelly Cole of Tioga Center, NY, daughter; Amy Cole of Canton, PA, grandchildren; Andrew and Lauren Cole, Alex Cole, Daniel Cole, and Erin Cole.  He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law; Lester and Annie Cole of AL, sister; Emma Jean Molyneaux of Apalachin, NY, brother; Roland Cole of Maine, NY, brothers and sisters-in-law; Vernon and Cindy Cole of Sayre, PA and Sidney and Carolyn Cole of Candor, NY, and several nieces and nephews.   

A memorial service for family and friends will be announced at a later date. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
