Obituary of Vivian N. Bennett

Vivian N. (Richards) Bennett, 91, of Sayre, PA passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018, at the Sayre Health Care Center following a period of declining health.  

She was born on September 7, 1926 in Ulster, PA, the daughter of the late Floyd and Edna (Nichols) Richards.

Vivian’s focus and center of her life was her family. She was faithful to attending church, until such a time as her health prevented it. She enjoyed crocheting, drawing, and painting. Vivian also enjoyed playing the piano. When Vivian made Sayre Health Care Center her home, she enjoyed participating in the activities and made many friends among the staff.

She is predeceased by her husband; Melvin Bennett, son; Charles Hoffman, brother; Roland Richards, and sisters; Eunice Richards Merrill, Norma Richards Petry, and Eleanor Richards Gibbs.

Vivian is survived by her daughter; Marilyn Wittig of Athens, PA, son and daughter-in-law; Paul and Janice Bennett of Ulster, PA, grandchildren; Greg and Terri Wittig of Athens, PA, Rebecca and Michael Mulligan of Canada, Burnadette and Bob Bowen of New York, Aaron Bennett of Ulster, PA, Lauren Bennett of Ulster, PA, and Ryan Bennett of Ulster, PA, great-grandchildren Veronica, Amber, MacKenzie, and Logan, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, from 12pm-2pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA.  Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 2pm with the Rev. Bill Kleese officiating.

Burial will be in South Litchfield Cemetery, Athens, PA.
