Obituary of Virginia K. Yanuzzi
Virginia (Kramer) Yanuzzi, 86, of Sayre, PA passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Elderwood at Waverly following a period of declining health.
She was born on May 4, 1931 in Scranton, PA, the daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth (Wood) Kramer.
Virginia was a 1948 graduate of Clark Summit High School and received her Masters in Elementary Education from Mansfield University. She was an Elementary Teacher in the Sayre School District for 36 years, prior to retiring. Throughout her teaching career, her students admired and loved her. Virginia's focus was always her family, and she loved spending time with them. Virginia and her husband, Angelo, enjoyed traveling to visit with their daughters and their families whenever possible.
She enjoyed spending time gardening, quilting, reading, and traveling with her husband and dear friends. Virginia was a previous member of St. John's Catholic Parish and currently a member of Church of Epiphany. She loved to spend time gardening.
She is predeceased by an infant brother and her brother; Walter Kramer.
Virginia is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years; Angelo Yanuzzi at home, daughters and sons-in-law; Nancy and Peter Cleff of Macungie, PA and Mary Jo and Steven Alonso of Carmel, IN, grandson; Daniel Cleff, granddaughters and their spouses; Kristyn and Nicholas Mason, Kathryn and Phillip Tufts, granddaughter; Sarah Alonso, great-grandchildren; Steven, Daniel, and one that she was so looking forward to meeting; Charles Phillip. She is also survived by her brother Lawrence Kramer of Williamsburg, VA, many nieces and nephews and their families, sisters-in-law; Josephine Yanuzzi and Vera Yanuzzi, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Ralph and Judy Yanuzzi.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 9am-10am at the Church of the Epiphany, 304 South Elmer Avenue, Sayre, PA. A Memorial Christian Mass will be held at the Church at 10am.
Burial will follow in the Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
