Obituary of Thomas M. Cotter

Thomas M. "Tom" Cotter, 74, of Sayre, PA passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, May 05, 2018 at the Robert Packer Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born on September 22, 1943, in Sayre, PA, the son of the late Joseph P. and Virginia (Johnson) Cotter.
Tom was a graduate of Athens High School and attended Williamsport Tech School. He was an electrician with GTE/Sylvania, prior to retiring. Tom enjoyed woodworking, stain glass, and was always busy outside in the yard tending to the landscaping. His generosity could never be measured, as Tom was well known for his caring for others. He was always willing to help with home improvements, or any projects that were needed for those in need. His wife's students were always delighted when his generous nature brought chocolates to one and all. He loved being outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or golfing. Keeping with his Irish Heritage, he was an avid Notre Dame fan.
He is predeceased by his brothers, Joseph, John, Paul and Willis, and sisters, Eleanor "Ruby", Josephine, Kate, Evelyn, and Theresa.
Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Elbertine at home, brother-in-law, Howard Acla of Towanda, sister-in-law, Mary Lou Cotter of Lincoln, NB, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Following Thomas' wishes there will be no calling hours or services. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
