Obituary of Thomas M. Cocco
Thomas Michael “Tom” Cocco, 71, of Waverly, NY, passed away at his home with his wife by his side on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, following his brave battle with cancer.
He was born March 12, 1947, in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Thomas W. and Mary Ann (Novak) Cocco.
Tom was a Veteran of the US Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. He was the owner and operator of the Hofbrau in Waverly and then moved the business to Sayre, prior to his retirement and selling of the business. He enjoyed hunting. Tom was a member of the American Legion Post #283, serving as a past Commander. He also was a member of the ELKS, Sayre and was a past Exalted Ruler. Always at Tom’s side, was his faithful companion and little buddy, Dezi.
He is predeceased by his stepson, Kenny Conover and brother-in-law, John Goode.
Tom is survived by his wife of 33 years, Patricia at home, son, Thomas John “TJ” Cocco of Endicott, NY, stepson, David Conover of Manchester, NY, 2 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, his sister and brother-in-law, Caryl and Al Favro of Bristol, NY, brother-in-law, David Traber of FL, sister-in-law, Linda Goode of Farmington, NY, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his little buddy, Dezi.
Honoring Tom’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
