Betty M. Wolcott, 78, of Waverly, NY, passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, following a brief illness. She was born on August 1, 1939 in Sayre, PA, the daughter of the late William and Ruth (Wood) Soper. Betty loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-granddaughter, nieces, and nephews. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing, and crafting. Betty was an avid collector of Boyd Bears. She is predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Richard Hunsinger, brothers, Mark Soper, Kenny Soper, and William "Sonny" Soper. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, William E. Wolcott, Jr. at home, son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Arlene Wolcott of State College, PA, daughter, Brenda Wolcott of Syracuse, NY, and daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Paolo Gavazza of Holly Springs, NC, grandson and his wife, Erik and Ashley Wolcott of Pflugersville, TX, and granddaughters, Julia Wolcott of State College, PA, and Alessia Wolcott-Gavazza of Holly Springs, NC, and her great-granddaughter, Claire Wolcott. She is also survived by her siblings, Edna Fiske of Sayre, PA, Yolanda Soper of Crestline, CA, Doris (Kenny) Nichols of Sayre, PA, Jack (Gina) Soper of Manville, NJ, and Roger Dale Soper of Sayre, PA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Graveside services and burial will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 1:30pm at the Tioga Point Cemetery, 803 North Main Street, Athens, PA.
