Robert N. "Brownie" Brown, Sr., 74, of Athens, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at his home. He was born on July 15, 1937 in Sayre, PA the son of the late Howard A. and Marie Anne Hatch Brown. Brownie loved watching sports, hunting and fishing. He was employed with the Ingersoll Rand, Athens before retiring in 1990’s after many years of faithful service. Brownie will be remembered for his sense of humor. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is predeceased by his brother Miles Brown. Brownie is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Robert N. and Diana Brown of Waverly, NY, step-grandchildren Jeremiah Scrivener and Damon Scrivener, step-great-grandchildren Jaycee Scrivener and Rylie Newbury, siblings and in-laws Joan and Bill Allen, Devona and John Woods, Kaye and Don Jennings, and Marian Robinson, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 11am – 12pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the Funeral Home at 12pm with the Rev. Jon Austin from the Litchfield United Methodist Church officiating.
