Obituary of Jess Earl Savercool
Jess Earl Savercool, 46, of Sayre, PA passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at his home.
He was born on February 25, 1972 in Sayre, PA, the son of Richard and Mary (Savercool) Matthews.
Jess loved spending time with his children. He was employed as a Chef in various restaurants in the Valley area. He enjoyed cooking and camping. Jess had a collection of movies on DVD, and he could be seen spending his spare time watching any type of movies on TV.
He is predeceased by maternal grandparents, Mary Josephine, and William Herald Savercool, maternal uncle, James Earl Savercool, maternal aunt, Carol Mae Greene and family friend, Thomas James.
He is survived by his children, Kali Jo Jacquelyn Savercool and William Charles Grove of Sayre, PA, Marina Renee Savercool of Sayre, PA, Kattie Mae Winge of Sayre, PA, Brady Thomas Savercool of Sayre, PA, Christopher David John Naylor of Sayre, PA, and Jesse James Earl Savercool of Sugar Run, PA, parents, Mary Jane (Savercool) and Richard Matthews of Sayre, PA, siblings and their spouses, William and Lisa Matthews of Sayre, PA, Chris and Sandy Pruyne of Laceyville, PA, Richard and Maureen Matthews of Sayre, PA, and Jason and Melinda Matthews of Sayre, PA, brother, Andrew Matthews of Powell, PA, and sister, Maryann Engle of Elmira, NY. He is also survived by his maternal aunts and uncles, Catherine and Richard Kithcart of Sayre, PA, Tom and Patty Savercool of Sayre, PA, Pat and Dodi Savercool, Don and Mary Savercool, William and Shirley Savercool of Waverly, NY, Margaret Savercool of Waverly, NY, Maureen and Charles Comstock of Milltown, PA, and Penny Young of Sayre, PA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on June 25, 2018 at 1pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA with the Rev. Bruce Vanderpool officiating.
