Obituary of James R. McNeal
James R. "Jim" McNeal, 48, of Athens, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018, at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, following an extended illness.
He was born on February 27, 1970 in Sayre, PA, the son of Linda Bump and Charles McNeal.
Jim enjoyed softball and he was a referee for the games at the Monroeton Ball Field. For many years, he oversaw the ball field and scheduling until his health began to fail. He was an avid sports fan, watching all sports on tv. Jim especially enjoyed WWE and was very adept at naming any sports figure.
James is survived by his mother and step-father, Linda and Paul Bump of Towanda, PA, sister, Sue Thompson of Canton, PA, sister and brother-in-law, Penny and Joe Myner of Hornbrook, PA, twin brother, John McNeal of Towanda, PA, brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Faith McNeal of Franklindale, PA, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At James' request, there will be no calling hours or services. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
