I had the huge pleasure of being Richard's nurse during his treatments. The first time I met him I thought "Who the hell is this guy?"! His long red hair & full beard...holy smokes! My first thoughts were TOTALLY wrong! He had the best & biggest smiles, the best bear hugs & an honesty that would floor you. I so looked forward to seeing him because I knew my day would be so much better because of him. We would laugh, cry, swear, laugh some more. He will forever be in my heart & his memory will live on in his "offspring". RIP Richard, gone but never ever forgotten.

I met Richard a few times when he was a patient in the PRU and it took only a second to know that he was a strong, adorable and funny guy. I am so very sorry for your loss. Although I didn’t know him that well or for very long, Richard left an indelible impression on me. I was on several reds w him over the last 2 years and admired his joy of riding and lust for life. As a cancer survivor myself, the way he handled his illness was incredibly courageous. He will be greatly missed. My condolences to his entire family.
