Obituary of Duane C. Arnold

Rev. Duane C. Arnold, 65, of Lockwood, NY, entered his Lord’s presence on July 9, 2018 with his family by his side at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre following a period of declining health.

 

He was born on August 10, 1952 in Johnson City, NY, the son of Willis B. and Vivian C. (Maslin) Arnold.

 

Duane lived his life entirely around his faith and family. He graduated with a Bachelors’ Degree from Practical Bible College and Davis College in 1996. Duane was a devoted Christian and family-man. He served as the Associate Pastor for East Main Baptist Church in Des Plains, IL, and as Pastor of the Agape Bible Church in Waverly, NY. For the past 21 years, Duane served as Pastor of the Southport Baptist Church originally in Elmira, NY, now meeting in Lockwood, NY. His life was about serving others and spreading the Gospel. Prior to entering the ministry, Duane owned and operated Arnold’s Transmatic in Litchfield Twp.

 

He enjoyed hunting and shooting. Duane loved camping with his family and did so until his health declined. Spending time and being surrounded by family and friends and serving the Lord was always most important to him.

 

He is predeceased by his son, Carl Watkins, father, Willis B. Arnold, and an infant brother, Randy Willis Arnold.

 

Duane is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lisa Arnold at home, sons and daughters-in-law, Duane, Jr. and Darcie Arnold of Horseheads, NY and Christopher and Janell Arnold of Lawrenceville, NY, daughters and sons-in-law, Jessica and Todd Frutchey of Lockwood, NY and Auriel and Eric Patterson of Moses Lake, WA, son, Michael Arnold at home, and daughters Faith and Lillian Arnold at home, grandchildren, Korinn and Andrew Klock, Jaylynn VanWormer, Duane R. “Patch” Arnold, Kallysta Arnold, Lakesha Smith, Danikka Arnold, Akirrah Arnold, Quinn Arnold, Autumn Arnold, Joseph Rogers, Mason Rogers, Jonathan Watkins, Jayden Watkins, Isaiah Bird, Hannah Watkins, Aurora Patterson, and Aurelia Patterson. He is also survived by his mother, Vivian C. Arnold of Litchfield, PA, brother and sister-in-law, Willis “Rick” and Tammy Arnold of Litchfield, PA, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Friends and family may call on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 1pm-3pm at Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 3pm with his sons, Pastor Duane Arnold, Jr. and Pastor Christopher Arnold co-officiating.

 

A private burial will be in Rome Cemetery, Rome, PA.
