Obituary of Peter J. Quattrini

Peter J. "Pete" Quattrini, 71, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre with his family by his side.

He was born on December 18, 1946 in Sayre, PA, the son of the late Thomas and Ethel (Ryman) Quattrini.

Pete was a 1964 graduate of Sayre High School. Following graduation, he entered the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Upon returning from the service, Pete went to work as a Union Carpenter. Pete was community minded and gave of his time with many projects in the area. Just a few were the Memorials at the Sayre Park, Lehigh Valley Railroad, Snyder Elementary Bells, Powerhouse at the Guthrie, and the Airport Soaring Museum in the Elmira area. He also helped to refurbish two long-standing businesses in the Valley, the Sons of Italy and Mangialardo's Restaurant. His generosity and gentle nature will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

When he wasn't working or doing a project for someone, Pete loved spending time with his family and friends, especially spoiling his beloved grandchildren. He enjoyed shuffleboard, Bocce Ball, fishing, and gardening. The guy that was known as the lucky one in his family, he frequently won on scratch off tickets or at the Casino as he was exiting the door. He was a member and officer at the Sons of Italy.

He is predeceased by his wife, Nancy, twin brother, Louis M. Quattrini, Sr., brother, James Quattrini, sister, Janelle Quattrini, brothers-in-law, Jack Tyler and William Pitcher.

Peter is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Peter, Jr. and Brenda Quattrini of South Waverly, PA, daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Chris Payne of Altadena, CA, his beloved grandchildren, Allia, Andrew, Austin, and Cecilia, sister, Nellie Tyler of Sayre, PA, brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Marlene Quattrini of Sayre, PA, sister-in-law, Denise Pitcher, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pete was also loved and will be greatly missed by Deb Chandler and her family.

Family and friends may call on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 10am – 12pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 12pm.
