Obituary of Clinton E. Stewart

Clinton E. Stewart, Jr., 86, of Sayre, PA passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Sayre Health Care Center following a period of declining health.

He was born on March 18, 1932 in Rimersburg, PA, the son of the late Clinton E., Sr., and Martha (Fleming) Stewart.

Clinton was a Veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War. He had a Master's Degree in Education and began his teaching career in Huntington, PA as the Industrial Arts Teacher. His career then took him to Warfordsburg School District as their Assistant Principal, Ridgeway School System as Principal, and Dubois School District as Principal of the Junior/Senior High School. He then moved to Sayre and served for over 20 years as the Sayre High School Principal, prior to retiring.

He loved spending time with his family and friends. Clinton and his wife, Victoria, loved traveling. They saw much of the United States, and traveled to many foreign countries, including Brazil and Greece. He enjoyed flying and had his pilot's license. Clinton was an avid woodworker, creating many pieces for his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Clinton is survived by his beloved wife, Victoria at home, children, Cheryl Stewart of Oakley, KS, James Garrity of Sayre, PA, Mary Flannigan of Pittsburgh, PA, Cynthia Garrity of Conklin, NY, Lisa Stewart of Manassas, VA, Jeffrey Stewart of Lowman, NY, John Garrity of Sayre, PA, Edward Stewart of Harrisburg, PA, and Shaun Stewart of FL, 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, John and Kay Stewart of Murrysville, PA, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Anne Stewart and daughter, Deborah Landon.

A Time of Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 1pm-2pm at the Church of the Redeemer, 201 South Wilbur Avenue, Sayre, PA. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2pm at the church with the Rev. Melinda Artman officiating.
