Obituary of Morris A. Lane

Morris "Pete" A. Lane, 87, of Athens, PA passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at his home with his loving family beside him.

He was born on June 14, 1931 in Towanda, PA, the son of the late Carl and Grace (Cox) Lane.

Pete was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. He loved spending time with his family, whether it was just visiting, or holiday get togethers. Pete was an employee of GTE, Towanda, retiring after 38 years. When younger, he also enjoyed farming. He loved spending time outdoors enjoying nature, especially cutting wood and watching and being entertained by the bluebirds. Pete enjoyed hunting and fishing. Pete had a collection of tractors and even when his health declined he still enjoyed discussing them and was known to perk right up when he would hear one start. He and his wife, Ellamae, are lifetime members of the Calvary Baptist Church, Athens.

He is predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Jack Watkins, brother, William Lane, sister-in-law, Marianna Lane, and uncle, Max Lane.

Morris is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Ellamae at home, sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Dawn Lane of Athens, PA and William and Cathy Lane of Powell, OH, grandchildren, Brittnee and Alan Folk of Waverly, NY, Caleb Lane and Taylor Barrows of Sayre, PA, Grace Lane of Powell, OH, brother and sister-in-law, Carl "Butch" and Sandy Lane of Ulster, PA, sister-in-law, Jane Lane of Waverly, NY, aunt, Betty Lane of Sheshequin, PA, special niece and nephew, LJ and Emily Casterline of Athens, PA who spent a lot of time at the Lane home, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 10am-12pm at the Calvary Baptist Church, 701 Pine Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the church 12pm with the Rev. Mark Cox officiating.

Burial will be at Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
