Obituary of Ruth M. Frisk

Ruth M. (Adams) Frisk, 90, of Waverly, NY passed away in her home on October 25, 2018, after a long journey with Alzheimer's.

Ruth was born in Washington, D.C. on September 22, 1928, the daughter of the late Charles F. and Kathleen Fisher Adams. Ruth and William D. Frisk, predeceased, were married on July 5, 1947 and were married 68 years. Together, they served their Lord on the Islands of Jamaica and Trinidad. Ruth later taught school at Calvary Christian School and Elmhurst Christian Academy. Ruth and William were charter members of Cross Roads Assembly of God Church in Elmhurst, PA.

Ruth was also predeceased by her brother, Charles and his wife Norma Jean Adams and a grandson, Dylan M. Melton.

Ruth enjoyed crafting of all kinds and could crochet almost anything. Ruth loved children, serving in the church nursery when she was still able. She was a collector of many things.

Ruth is survived by her seven children: Robert D. Frisk of MT, Karen M. (Kenneth) Sloan of IN, Thomas K. (Bonnie) Frisk of PA, David E. (MaryAnne) Frisk of PA, John P. (Peggy) Frisk of WA, Beth F. (Ted) Kraybill of NY, and James F. (Susan) Frisk of NC. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Margaret Rose Emmick of NY, and brother-in-law, Dr. James (Patricia) Frisk of GA.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to ALL the wonderful caregivers and sitters that made keeping Mom home possible. She was never alone. Thank You!

Friends and family may call on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 1pm-2pm at the Greater Valley Assembly of God, 104 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at the church at 2pm.
