Obituary of Louis T. Campbell
Louis "Pete" T. Campbell, 96, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 with his family by his side at the Sayre Personal Care Home following a period of declining health.
He was born on May 28, 1922 in West Burlington, PA, the son of the late Harry and Leah (Wakely) Campbell.
Pete was a Veteran of the US Navy, serving during WWII. He was a self-employed trucker for many years. He also was a Jack of All Trades, who when called upon could do any type of repairs no matter the job. Pete was a school bus driver for 50 years and enjoyed interacting with the kids. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years. Pete was a Lifetime Member of the East Smithfield Fire Department, and a member of the East Smithfield VFW #7378 and the Troy Vet Club. He loved all animals, especially his cat, Middi and his dog, Freckles.
He is predeceased by his wife, Clara Case Campbell, and brother and sister-in-law, Carlton and Helen Campbell.
Louis is survived by his children, Harry and Bonnie Campbell of Athens, PA, Linda and Ray Sickler of Ridgebury, PA, James and Irene Campbell of East Smithfield, PA, and Bruce and Cecilia Campbell of Mountain Top, PA. grandchildren, Stanley Campbell of Ithaca, NY, Missy and Tom Kipp of Ulster, PA, Sarah VanHousen of Athens, PA, Anna and Isaac Keir of Athens, PA, Vicki and Tom Edger of Townsville, SC, Debra and Jeff Staub of St. Helena Island, SC, Andrea Campbell and Marlin Bert of Lancaster, PA, Jamie and Dan Imhof of Honolulu, HI, Annette and Brian Zuzu of Lancaster, PA, Todd Campbell of Milford, DE, and Cynthia and Sam, Abachnou of Myrtle Beach, SC. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Lois Clark of Springfield, PA, special great-nephew, Jason Campbell of Ulster, PA, special cousin, Alene Gerald of East Smithfield, PA, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Time of Sharing will be held for family and friends on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 2pm-4pm at the East Smithfield Township Building, 75 Park Lane, East Smithfield, PA.
