Obituary of Thomas E. Gowin

Thomas "Tom" E. Gowin, 64, of Sayre, PA, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his bedside on Friday, Novermber 9, 2018.

He was born on March 12, 1954 in Sayre, PA, the son of the late William and Marial (Evans) Gowin.

Tom was a "Motorhead" who loved cars, motorcycles, and anything that had a motor. He enjoyed doing anything that had to do with them. He was an Avid NASCAR fan, loved street stocks, and dirt track and local stock car racing. Tom loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is predeceased by his brothers, William Gowin and John Gowin.

Thomas is survived by his daughter, Heather Allen of Ridgebury, PA, daughters and companions, Tonia Gowin and Michael Stevens of Sayre, PA and Kristin Gowin and Michael Avento of Ridgebury, PA, grandchildren, Megan Abrams, Donnie Abrams, Arieona Gowin, Jayden Gowin, Chase Gowin, and Payten Gowin, the special lady that was his "Mom", Edith Daugherty, sisters, Kristen Gowin, Muriel Coston, and Melinda Gowin, brothers, Richard Gowin and James Gowin, sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Bill Vanderpool, Carol and Dick Minard, Sandra and Dale Miller, Cheryl and Dick Ulrich, Leora and Don Williams, Barbara and John Hayward, and Debra and Ken Devuyst, brother and sister-in-law, David and Ann Gowin, sister-in-law, Vicki Daugherty, sister-in-law Geraldine Daugherty, special niece, Lezlee "Kiddo" Stranger, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, his close friends, Brian Roberts, Thomas Savercool, Bill "Bonie" Pronti, Sonny Miller, and Howard "Striker" Fenton, many other friends, and the mother of his children, Ruth Daugherty.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 10am-12pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 12pm with the Rev. Linda Rogers officiating.

Burial will follow at Bradford County Memorial Park, Towanda, PA.
