Obituary of Priscilla Ann Carroll

Priscilla Ann Carroll, 76, of Athens, PA, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Athens Health & Rehabilitation Center after suffering from Alzheimer's for several years. Ann was born and raised in Sayre and married her husband of 51 years, Jim Carroll, in 1962.

Ann graduated from Sayre High School where she was a majorette and played the accordion. When Ann was 16, she was invited to play her accordion at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Ann met the love of her life when she was a sophomore. When Jim returned from the Army they eloped to Weldon, North Carolina, where they became husband and wife. Soon after, they moved to Athens and began their family of 4 children.

For the bulk of Ann's professional career, she worked at the Robert Packer Hospital in the Billing Department. Ann and Jim were very involved in their children's activities and sports, being seen at almost every school event. For many years, Ann was her daughters' majorette coach at Athens High School. Ann and Jim were avid bowlers, for years participating in various bowling leagues and tournaments. In later years, Ann was a wonderful grandma to her 10 grandchildren and loved spending time with them. In the last 2 months, Ann became a great grandmother.

Ann is survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchild; Brenda Barry and son Josh; Bob Carroll and his wife Kim, daughter Jessica and their son Alex and his wife Holly and their 2-month-old daughter Thea; Deb Buck and her husband Duke (Ken) Buck, son Kenny and daughter Jenna; Jim Carroll, Jr. and his daughters, Maisie, Ellie, Josie and Catie. Her sister-in-law Betty Northrup; brother Al Northrup and wife Pat. Her sisters-in-law Marian Green, Pat Carroll, Rita Scheid and husband Joe and her brother-in-law Willie Carroll. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and loving friends.

Ann was predeceased by her husband Jim Carroll. Her parents Chester & Ellen Northrup; her brother Robert Northup and sister Carol Grainger. Her twin sisters-in-law Marie Mason and Betty Brown and her husband Charlie; brothers-in-law Ray Carroll and John (Jeff) Green; brother and sister-in-law Ann and Alvin Lord.

Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home in Athens, PA on Saturday, November 17th, from 12pm-2pm; to be immediately followed by a short memorial service and then Interment at Tioga Point Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and especially the nurses at Athens Health & Rehabilitation Center. The family would also like to thank the tenants & staff at the Keystone Manor for their years of friendship for Ann & Jim.
