Gregory Wortman, 64, of Sayre, PA, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at home following an extended illness. He was born on May 24, 1954 in Jersey City, NJ, the son of the late Emil and Doris Cook Wortman. Gregory loved being a grandpa, and spending time with his grandkids, especially when they were enjoying cupcakes together. He enjoyed working on cars. For 17 years, he worked as a Paramedic in Jersey City, and he still loved being around ambulances, fire trucks, and the emergency personnel. He is predeceased by his sister, Doris Maita. Gregory is survived by his wife of 34 years, Gale at home, sons, Richard Wortman of Athens, PA, Christopher Wortman of Sayre, PA, and Matthew Wortman of Sayre, PA, daughter, Kimberly Wortman of Athens, PA, his grandchildren he adored, Kyleigh Wortman of Athens, PA, Lucas Wortman of Athens, PA, Madelyn Wortman of Sayre, PA, Anthony Wortman of Athens, PA, and Alyce Wortman of Athens, PA. He is also survived by his brothers, James, Craig, Keith, and Roger, sister, Pam, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA at a later date.
