Obituary of Robert R. Johnson

Robert "Bob" R. Johnson, 86, of East Athens, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at his home following an extended illness.

He was born on May 21, 1932 in Sayre, PA, and was raised by his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Johnson.

Bob was a Veteran of the US Army. He was employed as a Machinist with the Ingersoll Rand, Athens, prior to retiring. Bob also was a Mechanic and loved spending time out in his shop working on cars. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, motorcycles, and playing cards. One of his highlights every year was attending and being a part of the Bradford County Veterans Picnic that honored our military that served and protected us.

He is predeceased by his sons, Charles Johnson, Randy Johnson, and Robbie Johnson and his grandson Randy Johnson.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Shirley at home, granddaughter, Veronica Johnson of Sayre, PA, niece and her husband, Gloria and Lew Mattison of Vestal, NY, nephews, Shaun Cushing of Rock Creek, NC and Gene Cushing of Glendale, AZ, and great-nephew, Justin Cushing of Tucson, AZ.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 1pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA with the Rev. James Donahoo officiating.

Burial will follow the service in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
