Obituary of James Ellis

James L. "Big Jim" Ellis, 69, of South Waverly passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at his home. He was born on October 20, 1942 in Sayre, PA the son of the late Charles Frederick and Agnus Chamberlain Ellis. James served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Following his discharge from the U.S. Army, he was a self-employed Truck Driver for over 35 years. He loved to ride his motorcycle. He is predeceased by his sister Margaret Forrest, April 2007. James is survived by his wife of 23 years Pamela at home, daughters Lori Masters (Jay Lefchek), Karen (Mitchell) Johnson, and Jennile (Brian) Ernest, sons James E. Ellis, and Michael P. Ellis, stepson Joseph (Christa) Alliger, 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, brothers LaVerne (Roberta) Ellis, and Charles (Rose) Ellis, mother-in-law BettyLou Orshal, brother-in-law James (Beverly) Orshal, sister-in-law Peggy (Steve) Merritt, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family are invited to stop at the family home at 344 ½ Fulton Street, South Waverly, PA at any time to offer their condolences to the family. At James’ request there will be no calling hours or services. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made in James’s memory to the: American Cancer Society, Bradford Unit, 1948 East Third Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
