Obituary of Sylvia M Teeter

Sylvia M. (Bailey) Teeter, 87, of Milan, PA passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Sunday, January 27, 2019.

She was born on July 5, 1931 in Fox Township, PA, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Velda (Barns) Bailey.

Sylvia with her husband, Sidney, worked side by side on their family farm. She loved being surrounded by her family. Sylvia was an excellent cook and enjoyed sewing and quilting. After retiring, she joined the Ugly Quilt Club. Sylvia enjoyed embroidering as well and made countless baby blankets. Sylvia was a lifetime member of the East Smithfield United Methodist Church and Grange #1951. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is predeceased by her husband, Sidney B. Teeter in 2004, son, Ricky Teeter, grandson, Shawn Miller, brother, Lloyd "Jimmy" Bailey, and brother-in-law, Amos Hilliker.

Sylva is survived by her children, Velma Gilmartin of Elmira, NY, Putman and Sharon Teeter of Erie, PA, Virginia Teeter of Milan, PA, Jesse Teeter of Milan, PA, and Chad Teeter and Toni Brookens of East Smithfield, PA, daughter-in-law, Sue Teeter of Ulster, PA, grandchildren, Mathew and Jordan Miller, Robert Jones, Tyler and Jessica Wandell, Jason and Paula Teeter, Travis and Pam Teeter, Meghan and Mike Sebald, Christopher and Amy Teeter, Heidi Teeter and Brandon, Brett and Amanda Teeter, Curtis and Nicole Teeter, Samantha Teeter, and Emily Teeter and Brandon, great-grandchildren, Michelle, Victorya, Kourtney, Vienia, Taylor, Byron, Austin, Quinn, Helaina, Anna, Emma, Wyatt, Damion, Isaiah, Gavin, Lillian, Gracelynn, Bryson, Olivia, Jackson, Hillary, Madison, Paisley, Gary, Kinsley, and Maggie, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Delbert and Beatrice Bailey of Boomville, NY, Wayne and Linda Quail of Shunk, PA, Dann and Dora Quail of NC, sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly and John Morgan of Ulster, PA, Judy and Tom Ferguson of Colorado Springs, Co, and Edith and Ken Brown of Canton, PA, brother, Kenneth Quail of Shunk, PA, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family may call on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 12pm-2pm at Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at 2pm at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery, East Smithfield, PA.
