Obituary of Harold D. Smith

Harold D. "Harry" Smith, 70, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 following his courageous battle with cancer.

Harold was born on March 25, 1948 in Waverly, NY the son of the late Ralph R., Sr. and Marjorie (Grant) Smith.

Harry graduated from Waverly High School. Following graduation, he went into the US Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. Upon returning from the service, he was employed with Ingersoll Rand in Athens as a Machinist. After retiring, Harry worked at the KwikFill in Sayre. Harry was a past member of the Athens Borough Fire Department.

He loved his family and spending time with them. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of his life. Harry was a tinkerer and could repair anything and everything that was put in front of him. He was known for his willingness to help anyone no matter when or where.
