Obituary of Frances L. Ellis

Frances L. "Fran" (Snyder) Ellis, 62, of Sayre, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY following an extended illness. She was born on October 9, 1956 in Muncy, PA, the daughter of Lester Snyder and Phyllis (VanDine) Weikel. Fran was employed with the Grit and Lycoming Shopper in Muncy, PA. She then moved to the Sayre area and worked at the Morning Times for 24 years in the Circulation Department, prior to retiring. She enjoyed traveling and taking adventures with her husband and family. She loved doing crafts and having her cat, Toni, by her side. She is predeceased by her father, Lester Snyder and step-father, Pete Weikel. Fran is survived by her husband of 22 years, Frederick "Fred" Ellis at home, children, Michael "Mike" and Lore Temple of Hughesville, PA, Kayla Temple of Sayre, PA, Sarah and Jared Nolan of Oak Harbor, OH, and Mike Ellis of Sayre, PA, grandchildren, Marin Nolan, Shelly Stackhouse, Jeffrey Stackhouse, Patrick Maggs, and Derek Maggs, great-grandchildren, TJ, Avery, Ben, Maddie, Jake, Carson, Jayden, and Nala Rae, and her mother, Phyllis Weikel of Hughesville, PA. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Athena Snyder of Muncy, PA, Randy and Donna Snyder of Muncy, PA, sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and Jason Springman of Muncy, PA, her aunt and close friend, Janet Shannon of Williamsport, PA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. At Fran's request, there will be no calling hours or services. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
