Obituary of Dianne F. Campbell

Dianne F. Campbell, 76, of Athens, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at home with her family by her side.

She was born on July 26, 1942 in Sayre, PA, the daughter of the late Robert J. and Frances (Cardi) Friant.

Dianne graduated from Waverly High School. She then attended the Robert Packer School of Nursing where she met her future husband, Edward "Ed" Campbell. Following their graduation, Ed joined the military and for 20 years, they moved several times. They eventually came back home to the Valley area. Dianne then went to work as a Registered Nurse at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, until her retirement. She stayed in touch with her fellow nursing classmates and once a month they would have their "Monthly Meeting". Dianne enjoyed playing cards and solving crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed attending the weekly knitting group at the Spaulding Library in Athens. She was a past member of the Athens School Board. Diane will be missed by all those who knew her and loved her.

She is predeceased by brother, Mark Friant.

Dianne is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Edward at home, children, Edward III and Judy Campbell of Cincinnati, OH, David and Debbie Campbell of Baltimore, MD, and Michael and Paul Campbell of Philadelphia, PA, grandchildren, Anne, Julia, Cade, and her granddogs, Cody, Cooper, and Sonic. She is also survived by her brother, Robert J. Friant, Jr. of New York, NY, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Margaret Watkins of Crystal River, FL, aunts, Dolores McCutcheon and Mary Alexander, uncles and their spouses, Leo and Reva Cardi and Louis and Joanne Cardi, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 11am at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA.
