Obituary of Shannon L. Kellam

Shannon L. Strope, 41, of Cameron, NC, formerly of Athens, PA, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 with her sister and aunt by her side due to cardiac failure.

She was born on July 18, 1977 in Sayre, PA, the daughter of Harold and Jan Strope.

Shannon was employed as a Laborer in Construction. She loved spending time with her beloved companion dog Nova who recently gave birth to three puppies. She enjoyed raising her chickens "Chick-o-letta" and spending time outdoors. In the past, she also enjoyed scrapbooking and many other crafts.

She is predeceased by her father Harold "Sonny" Strope, and her niece Sara Strope.

Shannon is survived by her mother Jan Strope of Athens, PA, sister and brother-in-law Cary and John Crossett of Litchfield, brother and sister-in-law David and Emily Strope of Athens, PA, sisters Missy Thompson of Towanda, PA, Nicole Strope of Sayre, PA, brother Cory Strope of Sayre, PA, aunts and their spouses Juanita and Brian Peet of South Waverly, PA, Kim Witmer of Waverly, NY, Jill and Jim Lastufka of Lockwood, NY, Lynne and Greg Lane of Sayre, PA, and Sherry and Larry Frisbie of South Waverly, PA, nephews Ryan Strope, Zyris Crossett, Thorn Crossett, Garrett Strope, Dylin Strope, niece Gretchen Strope, cousins, and her beloved companion dog, Nova.

Keeping with Shannon's wishes a private service will be held at a later date. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
