Obituary of James P. Jones

James P. “Jim” Jones, 66, of Athens Twp., PA passed away with his beloved wife by his side on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the Robert Packer Hospital.

Jim was born on June 20, 1952 in Shamokin, PA. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. Jim was employed as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor at the Bradford-Sullivan Counseling Center, Athens, PA and White Deer Run, Allenwood, PA, until his health prevented him from continuing. He loved spending time with his family, friends, and his faithful dog Bandit. Jim also enjoyed all kinds of music and playing his guitar.

He is predeceased by his parents and several siblings.

Jim is survived by his wife of 35 years Ruth at home, son Jason Jones of Athens Twp. PA and Elizabeth Jones of Athens Twp., PA, many siblings, Ruth’s family, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his dog Bandit.

Honoring James’ ‘wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
