Obituary of Jean M. Ross
Jean M. Ross, 76, of Sayre, PA passed away on Saturday, March 02, 2019 with her beloved husband of 55 years by her side at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre.
She was born November 22, 1942 in Towanda, PA, the daughter of the late Raymond and Nancy (Johnson) Vincent.
Jean's priority was her family. She loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. She was passionate about cooking, not just for her family, but cooked for many of the events held at the Sons and Daughters of Italy. Jean enjoyed crocheting and was an avid reader. She loved to travel across the United States and World. Her trips included Hawaii, Egypt, Italy, France, Panama, and several cruises to the Caribbean.
Jean graduated from Towanda Area High School. She served as an elected official as the Bradford County Auditor for two terms. She then was employed in the Domestic Relations Department and as Secretary/Treasurer for the Sayre Borough. She was employed as a Supervisor for the Pennsylvania State Auditor, retiring from that position after 10 years of service. Jean was a member, past President, and current Vice President of the Sons and Daughters of Italy. She was a member of the Church of the Epiphany.
Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years Eugene at home, sons and daughters-in-law David and Connie Ross of Paris, France, Raymond and Jennifer Ross of Jersey Shore, PA, and Joseph and Mercy Ross of LeRaysville, PA, grandchildren Robert, Carolyn, Caleb, Marilyn, and Joseph Ross, sister Nancy Turner of Ozark, AL, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, and many cousins.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 225 S. Main St., Athens, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 10am at the Church of the Epiphany, 301 South Elmer Avenue, Sayre, PA with the Rev. Andrew Hovzdovic officiating.
Burial will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Towanda at the convenience of the family.
