Obituary of Doris M. Welch

Doris M. Welch, 80, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at her home.

She was born on March 18, 1939 in Barton, NY, the daughter of the late Glenn C. and Alberta (Smith) Lattimer.

Doris was a devoted mom, grandma, and great-grandma. She loved to travel with her husband, Ron. Their favorite baseball team was the Yankees and even after his passing, she continued to watch and cheer them on. She was an avid Country Music and NASCAR fan. Her loyalty was to Jeff Gordon, even after he retired.

She is predeceased by her husband Ronald Welch.

Doris is survived by her children Glenda and Carl Alve of Greensburg, KY, Sandy and Jack Brown of Hastings, FL, Randy and Barbara Welch of Waverly, NY, and Brian and Bonney Welch of Barton, NY, grandchildren Kristy and Scott Kayani of East Smithfield, PA, Wade and Anjie VanZile of Nichols, NY, Daniel and Autumn Brown of St. Augustine, FL, Christopher and Liz Brown of Hastings, FL, Tamara and James DiPaolo of Jacksonville, FL, Tiffany and Justin Mitchell of Athens, PA, Heather and Dave Whalen of Waverly, NY, Joshua Amey of Fairbanks, AK, Jonathan Amey of Fairbanks, AK. Brandi Welch of Waverly, NY, Joshua Welch and fiancé Erica Powell of Barton, NY, and Nicholas Welch of Barton, NY, great-grandchildren Kallysta, Reese, Amanda, Jade, Hallie, Drew, Chayce, Teagan, Lilly, Jimmy, Ryland, and Lucian. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law Betty and Allen Sherwood of Owego, NY and Nancy and Mike Boose of Hazel Green, AL, brother and sister-in-law Chuck and Kay Lattimer of Greens Landing, PA, aunts Shirley Dragoo and her partner George Geisinger of Waverly, NY, Ida Johnson of Sayre, PA, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

Friends and family may call on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 10am-12pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 12pm with the Rev. James Donahoo officiating.

Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Waverly, NY.
