Obituary of Mary E. Peppard
Mary E. Peppard, 73, of Waverly, NY, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA.
She was born in Sayre, PA on July 29, 1945, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Reva (Clinton) Peppard.
Mary loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Following her daughter’s death, she was instrumental in raising and keeping her grandchildren together. She loved cooking and was the family storyteller. She could make someone laugh when they didn’t want to when she was creating and telling one of her stories.
She was employed in the kitchen of Epiphany School, Best Western, and Mills Pride, until her retirement. Mary also enjoyed collecting shot glasses from all over the world. She attended Emory Chapel, Waverly.
She is predeceased by her son Danny Peppard, daughter Gina Wasielewski, great-granddaughter, Marley Shaughnessy, brothers Kenneth and Raymond Peppard, sisters Gladys Young, Leona Brown, Clara Simons, and Betty Vanderpool.
Mary is survived by her brother James Peppard of Waverly, NY, grandchildren Amber Morgan and Seth Shaughnessy of Ulster, PA, Nathan Morgan of Athens, PA, Kimberly Wasielewski of Sayre, PA, and Amanda Wasielewski of Sayre, PA, great-grandson Connor Shaughnessy, great-granddaughter Faith Shaughnessy, lifelong friend Mary (Wilbur) Wilson of Waverly, NY, and numerous mieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, April 18, 2019 from 5pm-6pm at Talmadge Hill Gospel Chapel, 1660 Talmadge Hill Road South, Waverly, NY. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at the church at 6pm with the Rev. Gary Culver officiating.
A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
