Alfred Fischer, 71, of Sayre, PA passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012 at The Highlands following a brief illness. He was born on June 29, 1940 in Sonneberg, Germany the son of the late Karl and Gertrud Berg Fischer. Alfred served in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne during the Vietnam War. He loved to travel. Alfred is survived by several children and grandchildren, sister Erna Kientzle of Granite City, IL, brother Peter Fischer of Germany, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11am at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
