Daniel W. Belles, 61, of Athens, PA passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012 at home following an extended illness. He was born on April 8, 1950 in Sayre, PA the son of John D. and Daisy Bennett Belles. Daniel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on cars, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is predeceased by his father John D. Belles. Daniel is survived by his wife of 16 years Linda at home, children Karen (Bill) Lane of Athens, PA, Lori Belles of Sayre, PA, John (Cori) Belles of Sayre, PA, and Carrie Belles of Sayre, Pa, step-children Lou Smith of Waverly, NY, Sheila Smith of Athens, PA, and Shawn Smith of Alexandria, VA, grandchildren Bryant Lane, Ruby Lane, Alicia (Dean) Brown, Allen Lane, Brittany Bostwick, Michael Bostwick, Dannie Button, Tylor Belles, Zachary Belles, Maddison, Belles, Jaylynn VanWormer, Lakesha Smith, Katelynn Wright, and Maria Wright great-granddaughter Harley Lane, mother Daisy Bennett of Milan, PA, siblings and spouses John (Jodi) Belles, Lorraine (Gene) Hatch, Maria (Tom) Bennett, Jill (Steve) Lantz, Jack (Ella) Belles, Jeffrey (Diana) Belles, Nancy (Greg) Rossi, and Sheila Salsman, step-brother Raymond Salsman, aunt Julia Belles Cooley, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and special friend "Punky" Mullen. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Waverly United Methodist Church, 158 Chemung Street, Waverly, NY with Rev. Anne Bey Canfield officiating. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
