Dear Papa Crowley, I have so many happy memories of my time with you. I have been playing them over in my head searching for the words to express my feelings. I am going to miss you tremendously. Holiday dinners just will not be the same....I met you in my wild teenage years when I did not make the wisest choices and What I love most about you is that you accepted me, loved me as your own, and never judged me. Thank you Papa for always making me feel special. You live on in my heart and mind and the stories and memories I will continue to pass on. I hope to have grandchildren someday and if I can be so blessed and they love and respect me half as much as I do you, I will have a rich life. Nicholas Barton Papa Crowley I miss you And i love you Friends, Family and loved ones, It pains me to contact you under the situation we are faced with today, however for me not to be there in my book is unacceptable so I write this to you . I have known Grandpa Crowley for my entire life, Every time I walked into his house he would have a bright smile on his face and open arms for a hug, and I have never met a man more in tune with the New York Yankees. We never really talked about the war however I know This man fought in World War Two. He used to mention how things used to be in the army way back when, and ask me all the time how the military was treating me, of course we came to the conclusion that not much has changed. I remember football games and graduations that he made it to and how happy he was all the time, well unless the yankees were losing. I remember seeing his face light with joy whenever we arrived at his house for a gathering or just to stop by and see how things were. I remember him being at my wedding a couple months ago and how happy it made him to be there. My grandpa or green papa as we like to call him lived a long and plentiful life, he was in the United states Army and is one of the men you should have thanked at one point in your life for your Freedom. The thing that I think I remember the most about My Grandpa Crowley is that he had a nickname for me no one else ever called me and that was "Old Buddy". Well Papa This is your old buddy and Im sorry I cant be there today to read this myself, I know that you understand because you were a military man yourself but it still saddens me. I just want you to know that I miss you and that I love you and your in my thoughts and prayers everynight. I love you Papa Crowley Love Your Old Buddy Nick

Grandpa, I know that you are in a better place now where you don't need that walker anymore and your back isn't hurting and I'm so very happy about that but I will so miss that contagious smile of yours when I'd come over to visit with you. I've shared soooo many memories at my Uncle Bob and Aunt Virgina's house, I can't even begin to list and was looking forward to their 70th Anniversary party. I will never forget the kindness and love they shared with me and my siblings.
