Donna Wiggins, 71, of Sayre, PA passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle against lung cancer October 26, 2011. She was born June 25, 1940 in Coudersport, PA the daughter of the late Edwin and Geraldine Gabler Lignian. Donna graduated from Coudersport High School (1958) and Mansfield State College (1963). She taught elementary education in Waverly and Nichols, and later worked for Panosians and First Citizens National Bank. Donna was devoted to her family and was very proud of her sons and their wives. She took great joy and pleasure watching her grandchildren grow up. Donna loved camping at Fair Haven State Park, Fair Haven, NY where she enjoyed swimming, hiking, and sitting around the campfire. Donna enjoyed dancing and especially enjoyed square dancing as a member of the Penny Promenaders. She also loved round dancing as a member of the Round Dance Club in Elmira, NY. Donna made friends easily and will be missed by the many people who loved her. While a student at Mansfield State College, she met and married Dave Wiggins of Monroeton. They just recently celebrated 50 wonderful years together. Donna is survived by her husband David at home, 3 sons David (Patty) Wiggins of High Point, NC, Doug Wiggins of Lancaster, PA, and Daniel (Lora) Wiggins of Leraysville, PA, 5 grandchildren David and Katie Wiggins of High Point, NC, Renee and LeeAnna Wiggins of Lititz, PA, and Clay Wiggins of LeRaysville, PA, mother-in-law Peg Cobb of Colley, PA, sister-in-law Joanne (Burton) Adams of Colley, PA, brothers-in-law Robert (Debbie) Cobb of Wyalusing, PA, Terry (Terry) Cobb of Wyalusing, Pa, Ted Cobb of Laceyville, PA, and Robert (Patty) Wiggins of Johnson City, TN, best friend and her sister of the heart of 39 years Lou Rita Hagerman of Waverly, NY, special aunt Gloria Smiley of Pinellas Park, FL, and special cousin Bill (Betty) Gabler of Olean, NY. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 from 1-2:30pm at the Sayre Christian Church, 427 South Keystone Avenue, Sayre, PA. A Memorial Service will follow at the Church at 2:30pm with the Rev. James Donahoo officiating. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
