Obituary of Caecilia Grimm

"God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be. So He wrapped his arms around you, and whispered, "Come to me." Caecilia "CiCi" M. Grimm, 76, of Athens, PA passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at home following an extended illness with her family by her side. She was born on June 29, 1935 in Boerger, Germany, the daughter of the late Theodore and Katharina Wessel Klassen. Caecilia was a member of Litchfield Township Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Red Hat Society, a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, and former member of St. Joseph’s Church, Athens, PA. She enjoyed her time as a Caregiver to area children. She is predeceased by her sisters Elisabeth Brand and Helen Rosenboom, brother Adolf Klassen and half-brother Bernd Klassen. Caecilia is survived by her husband of 48 years Max at home, children George and Brenda Grimm of Lewistown, PA and Sonja and Kenneth Hummel of Massillon, OH, grandchildren Nicholas and Katarina Grimm of Lewistown, PA and Heidi Hummel of Massillon, OH, brothers Alfons Klahsen of Germany and Georg Klassen of Germany. Friends and family may call on Friday, May 25, 2012 from 6pm - 8pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at 9:30am at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 503 Clark Street, Waverly, NY. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Caecilia’s memory to: Guthrie Hospice, R.R.#1, Box 154, Towanda, PA 18848, Litchfield Twp.
