Obituary of Stanley Moody
By God’s Sovereignty, Foreknowledge and Mercy, Stanley E. Moody, 83, of Sayre, PA, was summoned to Heaven on Saturday, October 29, 2011.
He was born on September 9, 1928, in Endicott, NY the son of the late Stanley and Eva Morton Moody.
Stanley served his country with the U.S. Army Military Police in Korea in 1950. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Endicott, NY where he worked as both Mail Carrier and Window Clerk. Stanley was a member of North Waverly Chapel, Waverly, NY where he and his wife were very active in the tape and visitation ministry as well as coordinators for the prayer chain for many years. Stanley also served on the Board of Directors on the Montrose Bible Conference for several years as well. He enjoyed traveling and visited most of the fifty states, as well as some places abroad in Europe, the Holy Land, and Canada.
Stan will be remembered as a Godly, caring person; a man of prayer and practical helper. He frequently stated, "We can pray about that.!" He had a quick smile and easy laugh. His life verse was Isaiah 40:31.
Stanley is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 33 years Joan at home, sister Grace Gevert of Endicott, NY, sister-in-law Patricia Moody of Traverse City, MI, niece Michelle Moody (Ken) Larson of Wayland, MI, nephew Thomas ( Melissa) Moody of Huachuca City, AZ and their respective families.
Family and friends are invited to call at the North Waverly Chapel, 38 Route 34, Waverly, NY on Friday, November 4, 2011 from 1pm to 2pm. Funeral Services will follow at the Church at 2 pm with the Rev. Edgar Manns and Rev. William Wells officiating.
Burial will be in Rushville Cemetery, Rushville, PA.
Memorial donations may be made in Stan’s honor to the Missions Program at North Waverly Chapel, 38 Route 34, Waverly, NY 14892.
