Mildred "Millie" Simons, 73, of Athens, PA, passed away on Wednesday July 4, 2012 at home with her husband of 50 years by her side. She was born on May 8, 1939 in Sayre, PA the daughter of the late Lewis W. and Altheda Jennings. Millie loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed reading, attending concerts in the park, and taking care of her cats. She is predeceased by 2 sisters and a brother. Mildred is survived by her husband of 50 years Richard, 5 daughters Kim (Benny) Westbrook of Athens, PA, Lori (Bub) Frantz of Athens, PA, Rena (Steve) Olmsted of Waverly, NY, Pam (Barry) Brosnan of Athens, PA, and Lisa (Eric) Jackson of GA, 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sister Nancy Endy of VA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends may call on Monday, July 9, 2012 from 11am – 1pm at Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at the Funeral Home at 1pm with the Rev. Eric Jackson officiating Burial will be in the family cemetery in Athens, PA at the convenience of the family.
