Ethel Jane Emerson, 72, of Athens, PA passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011 at home following a brief illness. She was born November 4, 1938 in Sayre, PA the daughter of the late Ralph "Red" and Winifred White Warner. Ethel was a member of the Waverly United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Ethel worked at Mr. Donut, Wal-Mart, and the Sayre School District. She is predeceased by her husband Robert J. Emerson, brother Ralph "Bud" Warner and sister Rose Rockwell. Ethel is survived by her son James (Nadine) Emerson of Athens, PA, grandchildren Andrew and Kristine Emerson of Athens, PA, sisters Dixie (Irvan) Smith of Sayre, PA and Margaret Keegan of Sayre, PA , brother Charles "Gus" (Kay) Warner of Sayre, PA, sister-in-law Candy Warner of Sayre, PA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Viewing and Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. The family is being assisted by the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
