Carl E. Cochran, 88, of Sayre, PA, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Bradford County Manor. He was born on December 11, 1923 in Gilfoyle, PA the son of the late Nelson and Cordilia Loucks. Carl was the Owner and Operator of Cochran’s Shoe Repair in Athens and Ruth and Carl’s Shoe Repair in Sayre, PA. He enjoyed fishing and bailing hay with his friend Bill Shoup for the Shoup Family Farm in Marienville, PA and riding his scooter. Carl was a 1947 graduate of the Technical Institute of Shoe Repairing, Altoona, PA. He is predeceased by his first wife Barbara Peters, and 16 brothers and sisters. Carl is survived by his companion of 30 years Ruth Bishop at home, sister Ruby Johnson of CA, brothers Delmar Cochran of Nashville, TN, and David Cochran of WI, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins including Charles, Judith, and Amy Cochran, and special friends Dorothy O’Connor and Missy Mullen. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 3pm at the Athens United Methodist Church with the Rev. Andrew Weidner officiating. At Carl’s request his body has been donated to Medical Science Research, Syracuse, NY. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
