Obituary of John Crossett
John P. Crossett, 67, of Sayre, PA passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at home surrounded by his family following an extended illness.
He was born on May 24, 1945 in Sayre, PA the son of the late James A. and Luella C. Talada Crossett.
John served in the U.S. Air Force for twenty years as a Jet Mechanic, and served in the Vietnam Conflict. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. John was an avid fisherman, hunter, and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was a member of the V.F.W. Skiff Bower Post #1536, Fort Sullivan Post American Legion Post #246, and the Waverly Sportsman’s Club.
He is predeceased by his granddaughter Sara Strope and brother Richard Crossett.
John is survived by his children Dawn Davis of Shallotte, NC, Monika and Steve Johannesen of Goodlettsville, TN, and John and Cary Crossett of Litchfield, PA, grandchildren Danielle, Justine, Courtney, Ryan, Lane, Jace, Kaley, and Masey, siblings Dawn (Tom) Babcock of VA, Bob Crossett of Towanda, PA, Vicki (Jim) Gilbreath of Hawthorne, FL, and Cheryl (Jim) Oros of Cortland, NY, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family may call on Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 9am – 11am at Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Memorial will follow at the Funeral Home at 11am with the Rev. Dr. Andrea Baldyga from Church of the Redeemer officiating.
Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
