Obituary of Marion Price
Marion Rae Price, formerly of Athens, PA, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2012 in Austin, TX, moments after celebrating her 93rd birthday.
She was born the eldest of 10 children to Ivan and Ethel Tunnicliff in Gillett, PA.
Marion graduated second in her class at Troy High School, and attended Mansfield State Teachers’ College. She married Lewis O. Price, and became a teacher, a bookkeeper, a poet, a preacher’s wife, and a Methodist missionary who served seven years in the Philippines. She was a loving wife and mother and a caring friend. She was also a renowned baker whose chocolate chip cookies and apple pies were famous throughout the Valley.
Marion brought comfort to all who knew her through her wisdom, boundless tolerance, and contagious laughter.
Marion is survived by her daughter Mary Lou Price of Austin, TX, son Richard Price of Los Angeles, CA, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sisters Patty Tunnicliff and Jenny Johnston, and many other beloved relatives and friends.
As was her wish, she will be laid to rest at Bradford County Memorial Park next to Lloyd Streeter, with whom she spent so many blissful years late in her life.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 11:00am at Bradford County Memorial Park, Route 6, Towanda, PA.
