Dave was a good friend of mine. We first met when they opened Audrielle Lynch Elementary when we were in 4th grade. We remained friends all the way to graduation. He was very kind and caring...also quite funny. We shared many good times together hanging out as youngsters. After graduation we went our seperate ways to begin our lives. In 2008 we ran into each other at Mom's business (Ferris Motor in Athens) . He asked Mom how I was and she said, You can ask her yourself, she's right here. You should have seen his face light up. I got the biggest hug. I didn't get a chance to catch up and share stories but he looked great and happy and appeared to be doing good. Then in 2012 I learned of his surgery. I moved to Waverly the end of 2012 but unfortunately didn't get a chance to see Dave again before he passed. I so wish I had. He was my friend and I could always count on him to cheer me up. I wanted to comfort him and cheer him up and let him know how much he meant to me. RIP my good friend. You are forever in my heart.

I'm sorry for your lose. I saw David for the first time in 35 year at a football game in Athens two years ago and we spoke for a few minutes. I don't get back to the valley much anymore since my mother died. If I lived closer I would have made the service ,him. To Hazel, Sue, Amy, Artie and, Gary your cousin Lynn.

To the family an friends of David Sickert I'm am s so truly sorry for your loss he was a grate man any one could know he had a heart of gold I am blessed to say I truly enjoyed baby sitting Louise an his children when they were younger Im blessed to have. If everyone in the world was like David Sackett, there would be no war, no hungry children, no desperate widows, no abandoned elders. David knew how to do everything but more, he knew how to get anything. He is among the elite group of Valley scavengers who see higher purposes for all raw material or cast off junk. I worked with David on Valley Playland. He quickly made himself indispensable. I didn't see much of David nor you Louise, but just knowing that David Sackett was out there in the world I also inhabited, was a comfort. Now I am bereft and pass my sympathies, intense sympathies, to family and close friends suffering this loss, facing a world without David.

Louise and Family, I am so sorry to learn of the passsing of Dave. I am happy that I was able to know him. He was such a happy and giving person. He always had something nice to say to me and also to June. It was a pleasure bowling with the 2 of you and he was always there to fix my lawn mowers. And also during the flood he offered such a helping hand. I will miss him and again so sorry for your loss. Mary

I can hardly believe this news. Dave was a the skating Rink as I grew up. Steve and I also attended Church with you at St. John's about 10 years ago. I am so sorry to hear about Dave's passing he was a very nice and caring person. I have known Dave and his family since the day i was born and he has always treated me with a lot of respect and he was like my 2nd father. I am here for Louise, Emily, Kathryn and the rest of the Sackett family always. Dave will be missed by everyone and i know i will miss him dearly.
