I am so sorry and saddened to hear of Jim's passing. He was a good friend and person. My favorite memory of him was when we worked together to get his first book published. From his ideas, I designed the cover and laid out the book for him for printing. He was so excited and happy when it was finished. I'll always remember his huge smile, and the pride he felt, when he handed me a signed copy. I was so happy for him and glad to have been able to help him get his stories published. He will be missed.

Jim will always be in all of my best memories from Bloomsburg university and he was in my wedding and will always hold a special spot in my heart as someone who just just made everyone one laugh and was sweet to everyone. He was a great writer even back then.

I am so sorry to learn of Jim's passing. Growing up, he was a powerhouse of wit, imagination, and poetry. He introduced me to some of the greats I still love today: Led Zepplin's Kashmir, Don McLean's Vincent, and Peter Elbow's book Writing Without Teachers. My deepest sympathy goes out to April, Scott, and all his extended family and friends.

I have so many great memories of times spent with Jim when we were kids. He certainly was ahead of me in his understanding of the importance of music, and his insight was a great inspiration for me. I am so sorry to hear this. When a fellow classmate told me this morning my thoughts immediately went back to when Jim joined Mrs. Belcher’s class mid-year in 2nd grade in the old Helen Minard School on Elmira Street. He was seated behind me and even then he would draw bookmarks for everyone – I remember finding one in my lunchbox one day – pretty sure there is still one in my old Bible…What a genuinely warm and kind soul he was. My heart and prayers go out to his family. May he rest in Peace and may those who loved him be comforted in the days to come. God Bless…
