Mr. Taylor was one of my favorite teachers! When I was in his class, he caught me doodling one day when I should have been paying attention to him. So, his "punishment" for me was to draw every single classmate a picture that night. Little did he know, that was no punishment. Not only did I draw every classmate a picture, I personalized them. When I handed them in the next day, he stood there looking through them and then he just looked at me and threw his hands in the air, lol Then he had me pass them out to everyone. He was always a lot of fun, and as a result, I enjoyed his class. I think I, and most of the girls in my class, had a pretty big crush on him. It couldn't be helped. I'm glad his beautiful wife understood. :) I can only imagine how much he will be missed by his family and friends. Folks like Scott Taylor don't come along every day. My heart goes out to his family.

I write this with a sadden, heavy heart. I was fortunate enough to have Mr. Taylor for Math and Social Studies when he taught at Athens. I was catching up with an old friend from school a couple weeks ago and he came up in conversation. We smiled and laughed about the times we had with Mr. Taylor, commenting on he was the best teacher we had ever had--not to mention bribing us with fun size Snickers! Throughout college I wished I had a teacher like him but no one could ever fill his shoes. He was an amazing person and I will always cherish the memories of Mr. "Turkey" Taylor. May you find peace and comfort in knowing that God has a bigger and better plan for Mr. Taylor. May he Rest In Peace. With Deepest Regards, Beth Perry Class of 2002 Athens Area High School

I was deeply saddened on learning of the passing of Scott. My memories of Scott are the years I had the pleasure to coach against him on the basketball court. I was always impressed of his relationship he had with his players and was truly one of the coaches I most admired. I am proud to have known Scott and know he will be deeply missed. Georgia, Jason, Austin and Family: I am deeply sorry for the loss of Scott. He was a tremendous guy and the obituary described his person so appropriately. He was always smiling and positive and his impact on student athletes was immeasurable; the fact that even the members of the Towanda Golf Team spoke highly of him speaks volumes of his character and positive impact on kids. I am sorry his time on Earth was cut short by a dreadful disease, but his legacy will live on long after his passing through your wonderful family and the lives of those he taught and coached. God Bless you all in your time of grief. With Deepest Sympathy, Margaret Shaw Barry & Family

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Taylor's passing. I really enjoyed having him in school all those years ago. In fact I had both Mr. Taylor and Frau Taylor (as they will always be known to me). I still think back fondly to my years as an Athens Bulldog and have often wondered what became of my former teachers, especially since I have been a teacher now for 17 years myself. Please accept my condolences. Mr. Taylor was a great man and will be missed.

Scott was our closest friend growing up. Scott, my brother Jim and I hung out all thru our high school years. We formed a club, the 3H club, Hussy Hunting Hustlers. It was a bit of a joke since we were all shy around girls and did not know what to say or do. We had a ton of fun together laughed until our sides hurt. He was a great guy and although we did not keep in touch like I wish we had, he will be missed.
