Obituary of Kathleen Soprano

Kathleen "Kathy" M. Soprano, 59, of Sayre, PA passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Sayre House, Inc. She was born November 2, 1951 in Sayre, PA the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy E. Kernan Coombs. Kathy attended Athens Area Schools, graduating in 1969. She graduated from Mansfield University attaining her Teaching Degree in 1972. Kathy was employed with the Athens Area School District as a teacher for 35 years. She was a member of the P.S.E.A., N.E.A., Winding River Players, Waverly Opera House, and the Church of the Epiphany. She is predeceased by her brother Richard, 2010. She is survived by her daughter Courtney Ann Soprano of Athens, PA, son Travis Michael (Jennifer) Soprano of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren Ryan and Aubrey, sister Patricia Ann (Charles) Holler of Sayre, PA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends may call Thursday, September 8, 2011 from 5pm to 8pm at the Waverly United Methodist Church, 158 Chemung Street in Waverly, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of the Epiphany, 304 South Elmer Ave., Sayre, PA on September 9, 2011 at 9:30am with the Rev. Wieslaw Ziebacz and Rev. Anne Bey Canfield co-officiating. Burial will be in the Tioga Point Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Kathleen’s memory to the: National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation, Inc., 2600 Network Blvd., Suite 300, Frisco, TX 75034.
