Obituary of Christopher Crandall

Christopher "Kip" Crandall, 62, of Sayre, PA passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at home with his wife by his side after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born on January 13, 1952, the son of the late Harry, Jr. and Vivienne Shedden Crandall. Kip attended Athens Area Schools and graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy. He received his Associates Degree in Forestry from Paul Smith's College. In 1976, he and his cousin, Frank, started their business, Crandall Logging Company, a Sawmill and Logging operation which they ran for thirty years. Kip enjoyed and appreciated his time outdoors whether it was fishing, hunting, horseback riding, or simply cutting wood with family or friends. He was never far from a fishing rod or a chainsaw. He was also proud to be a member of South Mountain Hunting Club. Kip is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sheila MacMorran at home, daughter Heather Watkins of Sayre, PA, daughter and son-in-law Chastity and Jason Reed of Sayre, PA, and daughter Rozalyn Crandall of Camp Hill, PA, grandchildren Jory, Corissa, Braden, Natalie, and Tim Reed, and Andrew and Nicholas Watkins, and sister Cam Anthony of AZ. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 5pm – 7pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Christopher's memory to the American Cancer Society, 1948 East Third Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
